"Dave Lepard och Martin Sweet startade bandet 2000. Enligt Dave för att komma bort från supandet. Namnet Crashdïet kommer från en av Guns N Roses osläppta låtar, med samma namn. De har fått influenser från flera av de stora 80-tals banden, som GNR, Mötley Crüe, Hanoi Rocks.
